Byrds, the

The first two Byrd's albums neatly blend traditional folk, new folk (a myriad of Dylan tunes) and thoughtful original pop. The bittersweet cover of Dylan's "My Back Pages" breaks new ground. On Sweetheart of the Rodeo, songs by Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Louvin Brothers, and Merle Travis are all treated masterfully. White brings a new dimension to Byrd's guitar, most evident on Dylan's "This Wheel's on Fire".
